The Vasari Corridor on a free first Sunday

Official ticket firstUffizi plus corridor costs €47 on the museum’s own site. The options below sell a guide for the paintings, or a slot when the official ones are gone.
Compare all sixHow it works
The first Sunday of each month is the free museum day, the “Sunday at the museum”. On that day the corridor is open to visitors who reserved online, at no extra cost, for as long as slots last. The word that matters is online: turning up and hoping does not work for the corridor. The museum sets this out on its corridor page.
Everything else is the same as on a paid day. Your group is 25 visitors with two members of staff, you meet at Room D19 on the first floor five minutes before your slot, you carry photo ID that matches the reservation, and the bag ban applies in full. The walk takes about 45 minutes, one way, into the Boboli Gardens.
Realistic odds
I will be straight about this. Free Sundays are the most contested slots of the month, and the corridor runs in fixed groups of 25. I would not promise anyone a free-Sunday slot, and I would not choose travel dates around one. If you happen to be in Florence on a first Sunday, try. Tickets are released gradually, so a sold-out day can still turn up a slot later, but if you are fixing your dates now, plan for a paid day and treat a free slot as luck.
The Monday catch
The corridor follows the Uffizi’s closing days, so it is shut on Mondays. When a special free open day falls on a Monday, the gallery may open but the corridor does not. The full hours are on is it open.
Free on other days
Some visitors get in free on any day: the museum has free and reduced categories, and tour operators say the free ticket covers under-18s and the €2 reduced one EU citizens aged 18 to 25. A reservation is still required for everyone, children under 6 included. Check your category on the Uffizi tickets page before you book.
If the free Sunday is full
- A Friday evening: the corridor-only ticket is €24 ahead and €20 on the day, until 20 November 2026. Friday dates.
- The official day ticket on another day: €47 ahead, Uffizi included. How to book it.
- A ticket listing or a tour, if the official slots for your dates are gone. The ticket-only listings cost €32–36 more than the official €47; the options are compared on all tours.
