Is the Vasari Corridor air conditioned?

The restored interior of the Vasari Corridor
Yes. The restoration that reopened the corridor in December 2024 installed a new air-conditioning system, according to the Uffizi’s history page. It is still a walk of about a kilometre in about 45 minutes at the group’s pace, after up to two hours in the Uffizi, so dress for walking.

What the restoration put in

Along with the air conditioning, the works that ended with the reopening on 21 December 2024 added ramps, platforms and lifts, LED lighting, video monitoring and five new emergency exits. The museum describes the result as a return to the corridor’s “original bareness”.

It is still a walk

Cool air does not change the pace. Groups of 25 keep moving with two members of staff, and you cannot stop. Before it, by day, the museum reckons about 45 minutes to walk from the Uffizi entrance to the meeting point. After it, you come out into the Boboli Gardens and walk to the Ammannati Courtyard of Palazzo Pitti, outdoors. Keep your coat with you, because you do not come back past the Uffizi cloakroom; what to bring has the rest. The full timings are on how long it takes.
