Uffizi Gallery and Vasari Corridor reserved entry ticket: review

The Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor seen from the river bank

My verdict: a plain reserved ticket for the Uffizi and the corridor, with no guide, sold at a premium over the museum’s own. Its perfect score rests on very few reviews. It does cancel free up to a day ahead, which the official ticket does not, and that, plus a slot on a date the museum has sold out, is what the extra buys.

Official ticket firstUffizi plus corridor costs €47 on the museum’s own site. The options below sell a guide for the paintings, or a slot when the official ones are gone.

Compare all six

A 5.0 from ten reviews

Ten reviews is too few to call a score settled. It tells you ten people were happy. It does not tell you what the eleventh will say, and two bad days would move it more than they could move the escorted tour’s 4.9 from 53. Lars, from Denmark, rates it excellent and adds that it was “a little confusing as to where to enter”. A traveller from Hong Kong found two hours in the Uffizi enough and met no queue for tickets. Both are useful; neither is a pattern yet.

€83 against €47

The museum’s own Uffizi + Vasari Corridor ticket is €47 booked ahead on tickets.uffizi.it (€43 on the day), and it already includes the gallery. The Uffizi alone is €29, so the corridor’s share is €18. This ticket is €83, which is €36 more for the same two entries. There is no app, no tasting and no guide. What the €36 buys is availability and flexibility. Official tickets are named and non-refundable; this one cancels free up to 24 hours before. And when the official dates are gone, it may still have slots. If neither applies to you, book the official ticket.

The voucher step

You do not walk straight in. You first exchange a voucher at a meeting point, and only then go to the Uffizi entrance. Lars’s point about where to enter belongs here. Read the meeting point on your confirmation the night before and allow time for the exchange, because your corridor slot does not move for it.

What the corridor part actually is

Self-guided. Inside, everyone walks in a museum group of 25 with two staff, who escort the group and do not give guided tours. Groups stay together, nobody may linger, and the walk runs one way, from the Uffizi to the Boboli Gardens, with no way back into the gallery. The ticket works like the official one: the Uffizi up to two hours before the corridor slot, about 45 minutes from the entrance to the Room D19 meeting point, and five minutes early or you lose the slot. What you see on the walk.

From me

Backpacks, rucksacks, suitcases and large umbrellas are not allowed in the corridor, and anything you leave in the Uffizi cloakroom has to be collected by walking back round by road, over the Ponte Vecchio, once you are out in Boboli. Travel light and keep your coat with you.

What works

  • Corridor included in the price
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before
  • Can have slots when the official site has none

Worth knowing

  • €36 more than the official ticket
  • Only 10 reviews behind the 5.0
  • A voucher exchange before you go in
  • No guide, no app

Who it suits

Someone whose dates are sold out officially, who wants to keep the right to cancel and does not need a guide. If the dates are not sold out, the museum’s ticket is the same visit for less.

Four of the six options listed here cancel free up to 24 hours ahead; the ticket-and-app option and the escorted tour are non-refundable. Official Uffizi tickets are named and cannot be refunded either.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 5.0 rating from 10 reviews reliable?

It is a good start and a small sample. A couple of poor visits would move it a long way. Judge the product on what it includes rather than on the score. How I read the ratings.

Does the reserved entry ticket include a guide?

No. It is entry to the Uffizi and the corridor only. In the corridor you walk with the museum group and two staff, who do not guide.

Why pay €83 instead of the official €47?

For a slot when the official ones are gone, or for free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which the official named tickets do not offer. What everything costs.

Can I cancel the reserved ticket?

Yes, free up to 24 hours before, according to the listing.
