Uffizi and Vasari Corridor timed ticket with audio app: review

A phone showing an audio app above the Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor

My verdict: a ticket for the Uffizi and the corridor, an audio app and a food-tasting bonus, sold well above the museum’s own price, non-refundable, and with the lowest rating of the six. I would buy it in one situation: the official slots for your date are gone and this one still shows availability. Otherwise, book direct.

The 3.9, said plainly

3.9 from 286 reviews is the lowest score on this site, and the value-for-money rating is lower again, at 3.7. The reviews explain most of it without me guessing. David Richard, from the United Kingdom, found two hours in the Uffizi not enough: he stayed five hours and missed his corridor slot. Phillip, also from the United Kingdom, wrote that “some of the views from it were stunning, the inside of the corridor was quite underwhelming”. Neither is really a complaint about the product; both are what the corridor and its rules are like. But a ticket sold at a premium takes the blame for them.

€79 against €47

The museum’s own Uffizi + Vasari Corridor ticket is €47 booked ahead on tickets.uffizi.it (€43 on the day), and it already includes the gallery. The Uffizi alone is €29, so the corridor’s share is €18. This ticket is €79, or €32 more, and the listing itself quotes the official €47. For the €32 you get the app and the tasting. You do not get a better slot, a shorter queue in the corridor or anyone to explain it. How to book the official ticket.

Here is when it is still worth it. Official tickets are released gradually and sell out. John, from the United States, booked this one because “everything else was sold out. So this really saves us”. If that is your position, €32 for a slot you could not otherwise get is a fair trade. Before paying it, check the Friday evening dates and the free first Sunday too.

What the corridor part actually is

Self-guided, with the app in your ear. Inside, everyone walks in a museum group of 25 with two staff, who escort the group and do not give guided tours. Groups stay together, nobody may linger, and the walk runs one way, from the Uffizi to the Boboli Gardens, with no way back into the gallery. John’s warning is the one to remember: the time on the ticket is the corridor time, not the Uffizi time. You can enter the gallery up to two hours before it, and the museum says it takes about 45 minutes to walk from the entrance to the Room D19 meeting point on the first floor. Be there five minutes before the slot or you lose it. Cynthia, from the United States, had been to the Uffizi before, so she went to the highlights and made it in time.

Before you bookThis ticket is non-refundable. If your plans might move, the reserved entry ticket cancels free up to 24 hours before for a few euros more.

What works

  • Corridor included in the price
  • An app for the Uffizi and the corridor
  • Can have slots when the official site has none
  • 286 reviews: the score is a settled one

Worth knowing

  • 3.9, the lowest score of the six; 3.7 for value
  • €32 more than the official ticket
  • Non-refundable
  • Two hours in the Uffizi feels short to many

Who it suits

Someone whose dates are sold out on the official site, who wants to see the Uffizi without a guide and knows roughly what they want to see in it. If you would rather keep the right to cancel, the reserved entry ticket is the other option.

Check dates for the ticket and app
Four of the six options listed here cancel free up to 24 hours ahead; the ticket-and-app option and the escorted tour are non-refundable. Official Uffizi tickets are named and cannot be refunded either.

Frequently asked questions

Is the time on the ticket for the Uffizi or the corridor?

The corridor. You can go into the Uffizi up to two hours earlier, and you need about 45 minutes to reach the meeting point in Room D19. How the timing works.

Can I get a refund on the audio app ticket?

No. The listing says it is non-refundable. Official Uffizi tickets cannot be refunded either; the reserved entry ticket on this site cancels free up to 24 hours before.

Is it worth €79 when the official ticket is €47?

Only when the official slots for your dates are gone. Otherwise you pay €32 for an app and a tasting. Every price compared.

Does the ticket include a guide?

No. You get an audio app for the Uffizi and the corridor. In the corridor you walk with the museum group of 25 and two staff, who do not guide.
